MY PAISLEY SCARF 1969

back in the day when I first fell in love with photography -- I was riding my bike around Lakewood with my Konica Autoreflex T SLR and slide film. I took this shot on a fine sunny day in 1969. I took my paisley scarf off my head, wrapped it on the handlebar of my bicycle, and took a shot of the sun shining through it.

This shot symbolizes so much to me -- grief, because my father had just died -- freedom because I was not in school -- creativity because it was my idea and my shot -- and my undying love of photography. 41 years later, I am still shooting.
