I'll just have to learn how to photograph it. This is in the ceramic patio where you are allowed to set things on fire. Not exactly a prime place to photograph. Night time, flourescent lighting. yucky lighting to set off a piece.

I absolutely love working with clay and using the potter's wheel.

Yeah, this is going to be a lifelong addiction for me. I'm re-entering the art realm full force. I gave it up for 30 years and have been slowly re-entering it for the last 5 years. This year, when I walked into the ceramics department studio at Lee College, I felt an overwhelming rush of joy. It's like I felt like I was "home," where I was supposed to be. I felt so inspired and happy. And that is how I have felt all semester. I'm no longer so interested in photography or editing photos at the keyboard. I just want to be at the potter's wheel, making things.
Right now I am thinking of how to glaze my pieces, and thinking about how beautiful Dink's pieces were. They were beautiful before he glazed or fired them. NOW, they are truly works of art. (Dink is a Master potter in our class).
I wish I could go to the ceramics studio today, but I've got family here and I do not want to leave them since they are visiting for just a few days.

I'm a Handbuilder myself so I am very curious about the wheel. I can never get it right so naturally i like looking at people who can!
One day thou, Imma throw on that wheel
here is the inside -- it does not look like much in the photo -- but it crackled really nicely and of course, looks very smokey here. I have not wiped the exterior smoke off the surface yet.

I'll check out your gallery to see your stuff.
I love pottery making and sculpting -- anything with clay. It's such an amazing medium -- made out of tiny slivers of the earth's most ancient stone, rendered to awesome plasticity through eons of erosion and the addition of that mystical liquid -- H20!
